Assist in Amtrak’s real estate revenue portfolio of Pipe and Wire, Telecommunications, Parking, Real Estate, Advertising and Other Agreements to maximize revenues, enhance safety, reduce operating expenses and support operation of the railroad. Assist in landlord relationships for the management of payments by reviewing lease agreements and rights. Provide support to staff to effectuate lease-hold payments. Provide administrative support to the Director Real Estate Development and other professionals in the Department to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the day-to-day operations of the office.


  • Assist staff with preparing documents supporting Amtrak’s occupations on or across Amtrak property by which Amtrak is licensing to third parties.
  • Assist with Property Control to organize documents of property ownership and rights.
  • Assist various internal stakeholders on third party and other projects.
  • Participate in the administration functions for all agreements in Amtrak’s nationwide portfolio including occupant communication, meetings, adherence to agreement obligations and deficiencies.
  • Interface with all functions reporting to the Senior Director Real Estate Development and all levels of corporate management as well as other companies and agencies.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining an extensive document filing system.
  • Successfully establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external resources and key project stakeholders involved in project tasks and key critical path deliverables.
  • Identify efficiencies and recommend process improvements to reduce costs and add value.
  • Handle confidential and non-routine real estate information and explain policies when necessary.
  • Ability to follow-up on department’s action Items.
  • Assist in conference and meeting arrangements.
  • Procure office equipment and supplies while adhering to budgeting guidelines.
  • Perform Ad Hoc assignments when necessary.


  • Bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of 5 years of real estate experience, or any equivalent combination of education and work experience of relevant experience required.
  • Skill in time management, project management, teamwork, communications, adaptability, decision-making, customer focus, results orientation, and the ability to meet priorities and deadlines.
  • Project management skills with prior experience managing medium complexity projects involving multiple departments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with focus on collaboration, team building, and customer service
  • Experience with working in cross-functional teams and cross-organizational implementations.
  • Ability to consolidate project performance data into various types of communication and reporting vehicles to address both management and project team level audiences
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must be able to read, interpret, and enforce real estate documents including but not limited to terms and conditions.
  • Ability to deliver work product successfully under deadlines.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment and act on it.
  • Maintains, supports, and promotes a safe work environment while following Amtrak’s safety rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Skills in oral and written communication including explaining complex plans to others; conducting effective meetings; interpersonal communication; team building/team performance motivation; time management; relationship building; and conflict resolution.
  • Familiarity with Amtrak departments, particularly Operations, Major Capital Delivery, Engineering, Finance, Planning, Government Affairs, and Law.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 software suite, including SharePoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams as well as Documentum, Maximo, and SAP.


  • Business degree and/or a related field experience preferred.
  • 5+ years relevant experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of real estate activity
  • Railroad experience or experience in a similar industry.
  • Knowledge and understanding of passenger rail operations and rail infrastructure environment.
  • Experience working generating reports for management review and administration.


Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
