Job Overview:
A Very Strong Accountant with heavy recent experience in Retail Space or Mixed Used Property Accounting (Office and Retail or Multi-Family and Retail). This position is located in the Atlanta CSC office. As a Senior Retail Space Property Accountant, this person will report to the Director of Asset Management Accounting and is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions for our Retail portfolio. Here are the roles you’ll play:
Roles You Will Play:
The Closer
  • Complete all monthly and annual close activities for the Retail portfolio, including the preparation of income statements, balance sheets, and cash account reconciliations
  • Complete all financials and reconciliations to ensure accuracy
  • Help Operations team review their annual budgets
  • This person would need to be willing to work with the Community Managers, to ensure:
    • Invoices are allocated property between Multi-Family Space and Retail Space
    • Making sure to copies of Final signed leases are available and filed properly. This includes Renewals and Amendments.
    • Options to renew are known and on their radar

  • Someone who communicates well via email, in person, or by phone
  • A committed individual who has a great deal of pride in their work
  • Communicates clearly and routinely with Community and Regional Management, and Investment Management teams regarding financial statements and cash management
  • Help develop, document, and communicate accounting policy and procedures; identify and implement process improvements as applicable

Building Blocks of Success:
  • 7+ years in the Retail Accounting field (Retail Real Estate accounting experience preferred) with working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, financial accounting processes and systems, and general ledger reconciliation
  • Audit experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA or MBA a plus
  • Strong communication, planning, organizational, quantitative, and problem solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail while performing multiple assignments under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; OneSite experience a plus
