About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Capital Markets Document Negotiator to support our Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Real Estate Capital Markets (RECM) division. Learn more about our career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead customer interaction including conducting kick-off calls, providing updates, and completing checkpoints regarding customer loans
  • Work closely with Legal, Credit, and Operations to ensure a solid working relationship with business partners
  • Collaborate with and influence CRE and RECM peers and others on difficult or problem negotiations to ensure agreements are negotiated in a timely manner and include the necessary provisions to mitigate transaction, legal, operation and credit risk
  • Enforce adherence to compliance standards, supervisory policies, and procedures within RECM
  • Oversee the preparation, negotiation, and tracking of legal agreements
  • Support appropriate actions of RECM Deal team for executing tasks related to various processes
  • Interact with peers within RECM and partner with management in the creation and administration of policies and procedures which govern the documentation process
  • Correspond and communicate with external customers regarding the end to end process of their loan
  • Identify and recommend opportunities within RECM, as well as relevant challenges and weaknesses facing the business

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of Capital Markets Document Negotiation experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Legal background including, but not limited to, paralegal certificate or Juris Doctor (JD)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment with multiple demanding priorities
  • Commercial real estate experience
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently and without direct oversight
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills including the ability to interact at all levels of an organization as well as with external parties
  • Foundational understanding of securitized lending
