Job Summary

Provides support and assistance to assigned underwriter(s). Responsibilities include creating settlement statements and proofreading title polices.

Essential Functions

  • Provide underwriting support and expertise to company personnel, agents and customers
  • Quote title insurance premiums to agency partners
  • Provide training and support to agency partners on commitment and policy preparation
  • Create and manage internal high liability policy files in FATIC proprietary software
  • Creating and proofreading of title policies, invoicing, revisions to our commitment and performance using company software and survey readings
  • Preparing general correspondence related to underwriting functions, customer interactions and vendor relations
  • Field and track customer service requests and frequent phone and email correspondence with both the local office and internal and external customers
  • Efficiently organize and prioritize the day to day routine tasks utilizing resources to assist in more clerical tasks
  • Order follow up title search information, request additional documents as needed by local jurisdiction or practices
  • Check requests/agent split of premium
  • Follow up on recorded documents and policies as needed
  • Key office support for phone, fax, USPS, FedEx, UPS, printers, copies and supply management, and maintain office calendar
  • Work with team to clear accounts receivable balance
  • Read surveys
  • Source of knowledge to assist others on their team


Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used

  • General knowledge of real estate title search requirements and basic real estate settlement practices
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Demonstrated strong ability to collaborate and act decisively
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail as well as ability to independently multi-task and prioritize daily work
  • Proven excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize with timely follow up
  • Ease with all technologies available and readily utilizes them to complete tasks at hand in a more efficient manner.


Typical Education

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred


Typical Range of Experience

  • 3-5 years or more of related experience preferred
  • Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of underwriting real estate transactions for the issuance of title insurance policies
  • Familiarity with real estate law is beneficial


License or Certification

  • Paralegal Certificate desired but not required
