LMI seeks an Inventory/Property Management Specialist to support a federal program management office in Summit Point, West Virginia. Responsibilities:
You will be a member of LMI’s Asset/Supply Chain Management Team and perform the duties of an Inventory Manager and Local Property Officer (LPO) in direct support of our Border Patrol client’s inventory control and training facility in West Virginia. You will be responsible for shipping and receiving critical parts to support field operations, coordinate the repair of unserviceable assets received from field locations, and, enter asset transactions in the government’s property accountability database and other asset and maintenance management database applications as required.

As Local Property Officer supporting the Border Patrol facility operation in West Virginia, you will also serve as a Utilization and Disposal Officer responsible for screening unrequired assets for reutilization and performing disposal actions for assets beyond economical repair. As the LPO you will also support requisite periodic inventories and reconcile asset records as required to support the government’s financial statement audit process.
As Inventory Manager for Border Patrol technology, you will work with the Border Patrol engineering team to ensure that security scans are performed on candidate components and ensure that technology system and subsystem components and modules have current software and firmware updates to support field operations. The position will require version control and tracking of assets in the field as well as the distribution center at the facility. The inventory management duties also include packaging, handling, and marking of assets in preparation for shipment along with warehouse stocking and management.
Limited telework may be authorized at supervisor’s discretion.

Other duties include:
  • Developing ad hoc reports associated with inventory, shipment, and configuration status of assets at the Summit Point and Border Patrol sector locations on the border
  • Travel as directed by client to assist with field asset management activities
  • Participation in spare parts provisioning activities for new technologies
  • Conducting analysis on spare parts optimization to improve readiness and reduce operating costs
  • Developing metrics associated with parts usage and reliability
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in a government inventory and property management discipline.
  • BA degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with federal government property management regulations and processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of asset and financial management databases
  • Knowledge of government supply chain operations and processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively solve problems.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.
Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance abuse, and employment verifications; active U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation preferred.
