Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Oversee the entire development process from land acquisition to project completion, ensuring all phases are managed effectively and efficiently. You will coordinate with various stakeholders, including planning departments, architects, contractors, and investors to ensure smooth progress and adherence to timelines.
- Site Assessments: Conduct thorough site evaluations to determine the feasibility of development projects. This includes analyzing zoning requirements, environmental assessments, and community impact studies to ensure compliance with local regulations and community standards.
- Capital Planning: Develop and manage project budgets, including monitoring expenditures and implementing cost control measures. Work closely with the finance team to ensure that funding is secured and allocated appropriately throughout the development lifecycle.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of junior development professionals, ensuring their professional growth and development while fostering a collaborative team environment. Regularly conduct team meetings to discuss project progress, address challenges, and celebrate successes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including investors, lenders, and community organizations. Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders throughout the development process, ensuring transparency and open communication.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed on market trends and evaluate competition to adjust project strategies as needed. You will contribute to the long-term strategic vision of the company by providing insights and recommendations based on comprehensive market research.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Urban Planning, Construction Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in real estate development with a focus on multi-family and commercial projects.
- Proficient in project management software such as Microsoft Project, and tools like AutoCAD and SketchUp.
- Strong understanding of California’s zoning and building regulations.
- Excellent financial acumen, including experience with ARGUS and budgeting for large-scale development projects.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities to liaise with diverse stakeholders.
