Department Profile
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community.

Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team. Our employees support numerous activities such as Product Controllership, Profit & Loss (P&L) analysis, Regulatory Reporting, Digitization, Business Management, Capital Requirements and Sourcing / Vendor Management.

Our Finance teams are currently seeking to engage with New York's leading talent. Our opportunities span across the global Finance organization, including: Institutional Securities Group, Global Corporate Controllers, Reengineering & Expense Management, Treasury and Investment Management Finance teams.

Team Profile
The Morgan Stanley Investment Management Finance and Control Group (FCG) supports Morgan Stanley's Investment Management (MSIM) business and strategy.

MSIM is a leading global asset manager across the public and private markets with over $1.4Tn assets under management (AUM), including equities, active fixed income and liquidity, alternative investments (including private equity, credit, real estate, infrastructure, multi-asset and hedge funds) and custom and bespoke solutions. With MSIM's acquisition of Eaton Vance in March 2021, MSIM's business continues to grow.

Members of the MSIM FCG team can expect to be involved in accounting, finance and process transformation activities related to MSIM's evolving business.

You Will
o Gain experience with and exposure to financial products, financial statements, regulatory reporting
o Communicate and work alongside a diverse group of professionals in Finance and across the Firm

QUALIFICATIONS

You Have
o Four to six years of professional work experience in data analytics, process transformation, accounting, or finance
o An ability to analyze information and present it back within an agreed timeline
o A detailed understanding of investment securities and transactions, various fund structures and the application of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles
o Experience managing a team of 2 to 3 professionals
o An ability to independently coordinate and maintain effective working relationships with business partners
o Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to adapt to your audience
o A willingness to observe process and disrupt it in order to prioritize the team's efficiency
o Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel

Optional
o Maintain a continuous improvement culture by looking for ways to eliminate manual processes and drive process efficiency through automation
o An interest or familiarity with Financial Markets and Products
o Experience with private equity and real estate fund structures
o Experience with investment and/or accounting software
o Previous work experience of Audit or Accounting
