Introduction to the team
Our Real Estate Outsourced Finance & Accounting consulting group at Moss Adams helps businesses to operate more effectively, make better decisions and spend less time on accounting and financial operations. The Consulting Senior Manager role is instrumental in our ability to deliver on our promise. We are looking for energetic individuals who have a passion for learning and using technology to provide outsourced finance & accounting services to our dynamic client base.

Consulting Sr. Managers serve as a valued business advisor to our clients by filling a variety of client roles such as a highly experienced Controller, Account Manager, and Senior Onboarding. Our Consulting Senior Manager’s oversee and supervise all teams providing real estate accounting consulting services. In addition, Consulting Senior Managers are responsible for managing the ongoing financial reporting operations including review of periodic financial reports, KPI’s, and other management reports. Consulting Senior Managers provides critical oversight and account management to ensure the right policies and procedures are implemented, controls are designed to mitigate risk, and ensures reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Independent review of monthly financial statements, including adjusting entries, as needed, knowledge of GAAP and tax reporting basis is required
  • Maintenance of various supporting workpapers including fixed assets tracking
  • Fee auditing and tracking both recurring fees and project based fees
  • Reviewing, approving and submitting all required lender and guarantor reporting timely
  • Creation of monthly capital draw packages and funding requests
  • Analyze title closing statements and independently develop acquisition, disposition, and refinance calculations
  • Reconciliation of intercompany accounts through corporate structure
  • Analysis of profitability for distributable cash calculations
  • Annual budgeting and coordination with numerous joint venture partners and property management companies to see budgets through to completion
  • Work with outside tax preparers and auditors on annual audits, including preparation of tax projections, tax preparation and audit workpapers
  • Review tax returns for completeness and accuracy
  • Review audit reports for completeness and accuracy
  • Maintain capital tracking spreadsheets by partner, including waterfalls and promote accruals


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in the real estate investment / private equity sector, public accounting or life sciences
  • Multi-entity experience required
  • Highly proficient in Excel
  • Team player with strong work ethic
  • Detail oriented, highly organized with strong leadership skills
  • GAAP and tax knowledge preferred
  • Familiarity with both QuickBooks and Yardi accounting platforms is preferred
  • Active CPA preferred
