Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
We are searching for a skilled, detail-oriented, dependable technician to join our growing team. The technician's responsibilities include traveling to our site locations, monitoring and servicing equipment, diagnosing problems and troubleshooting equipment, running tests and completing reports, making recommendations to improve operations, and repairing or replacing faulty equipment. Additionally, the service technician will install and test equipment and provide our team with instructions on the proper usage of the product.

To be successful as a service technician, you should have excellent technical and mechanical skills. You should have experience with basic hand, power, and diagnostic tools and be physically fit to lift heavy equipment. This position will work closely with the Floor Care and Equipment Manager as well as our Director of Operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist team and client with any queries or requests.
  • Supporting the assembly, testing, and maintenance of company equipment
  • Analyze root causes of equipment failures and propose corrective actions.
  • Provide 24×7 support to troubleshoot the equipment problems.
  • Perform regular inspections to identify and correct equipment malfunctions, repairs, and replacements.
  • Read and understand technical manuals for equipment operations and maintenances.
  • Adhere to company policies and safety regulations.
  • Develop preventive maintenance procedures and tracking to avoid equipment failures.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized facilities.
  • Clean and lubricate equipment on a regular basis.
  • Provide and support equipment training for all new team members.
  • Maintain documentation and records of equipment maintenance and repair procedures for future reference procedures within company software.
  • Maintain inventory control of equipment tools and parts.
  • Propose improvements to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
  • Develop cost reduction initiatives by effective utilization of materials and resources.
  • Cleaning, maintaining and storing equipment and PPE proficiently.
  • Keeping an inventory of equipment and scheduling cleaning and maintenance.
  • Running tests and interpreting results to make effective recommendations.
  • Writing reports, safety regulations, and preventative maintenance plans.
  • Sourcing replacement parts.
  • Negotiating with suppliers and clients.
  • Repairing or replacing faulty equipment.
  • Fabricating any components required.
  • Providing time and material cost estimates before starting a job.
  • Inspecting, analyzing, and troubleshooting systems and equipment.
  • Reporting maintenance issues to Management.
  • Assisting with the hazardous waste collection as required.
  • Must be able to work weekends, day and night shift and holidays if needed depending on operational needs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • High school diploma.
  • An associate's degree or technical certification in the industry.
  • Experience as a technician.
  • A driver's license.
  • Ability to multitask and liaise with professionals in different fields.
  • Ability to explain problems simply and clearly.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to follow health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of equipment and tools used in the industry.
  • Physical fitness to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and bend frequently.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
