We currently have an exciting opportunity to bring onboard a Real Estate/Alternatives Fund Accountant to join the RLAM business on a permanent contract in London.

Role purpose
The Fund Accounting Oversight team plays a crucial role in TPA fund accounting supervision, monitoring and sign off. This role provides support to the Alternatives Fund Accounting Manager and has two key areas of focus, Property/Real Estate and Private Equity.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibility for the supervision, monitoring and sign-off of fund accounting reports and controls with key oversight of outsourced real estate fund accounting activities in relation to Property portfolios both for RLAM and Royal London Group
Responsible for Property funds’ reports and accounts including attendance to audit
Manage Private Equity drawdown payments, ensuring payments are instructed to custodians in a timely manner
Manage the relationship with all Private Equity counterparties; and provide timely valuations and cashflow reconciliations on the portfolio of investments
Provide close monitoring, and regular management information on the Private Equity investments; and ensure all records are maintained on the Burgiss system, and the fund accounting system.

Essential Criteria
Qualified (or part qualified) accountant with post qualification experience
Relevant fund accounting experience, preferably gained from an asset management environment in real estate and alternative investments
UK GAAP and IFRS experience

Desirable Criteria
Understanding of the investment management processes
Understanding of regulated products, onshore and offshore
