Our clients are businesses that own mortgage loans (such as banks and real estate investment firms). On their behalf, we manage (or “service”) their loan portfolios, which means that we collect homeowners’ mortgage payments, pay their tax and insurance bills, and help homeowners in default to get current.

Summary:
The Special Loans and Servicing Operations Department administers the complicated details of non-fixed rate loan products such as adjustable rate mortgages (ARMs), Daily Simple Interest (DSI) loans, Balloon loans, and modifications, among others. Special Loans/ Servicing Operations Analysts support the Servicing Operations Department to ensure efficient and timely completion of departmental tasks and goals. The Analyst must be detail-oriented and able to work under pressure on a variety of tasks, including research and resolution of escalated/priority requests and project tasks, under the supervision of the Servicing Operations Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes potential invalid data on multiple worklists to determine potential errors;
  • Corrects invalid data by updating the necessary fields in Servicing Director to prevent future errors and calculates any correction amounts that may need to be advanced or refunded;
  • Researches servicing histories and setup of ARM, DSI, and modified loans, collects supporting documentation, and assists in preparing audit responses;
  • Monitors the status of ARM loans; assists in resolving servicing transfer/loan setup issues; researches ARM loan payment histories;
  • Conducts special projects as assigned by Special Loans Managements;
  • Calculate loan amortizations to correct posting errors by Shellpoint or previous servicers;
  • Update loans through adjustments and payment reapplications to reflect the proper accounting of all payments made per department requests;
  • Assists with training new team members on key processes to increase coverage within the servicing operations team;
  • Supports management in achieving goals and improving the efficiency/productivity of the department; and,
  • Completes miscellaneous tasks as necessary or required.
Qualifications/Skills:
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage documents, security instruments, and modification documents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills to complete multiple deadlines with minimal supervision.
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience in the mortgage industry.
