Want to play a key role in unlocking the power of West Midlands housing, property and regeneration programmes? Are you an experienced property professional experienced in managing land acquisition and disposal for development?
As Head of Property and Strategic Assets you’ll lead and oversee a diverse retail and property portfolio.
This is a unique opportunity for you to maximise and build long lasting relationships between the public and private sector and stimulate changes when it comes to managing public land.
Your new role leads on innovative land acquisition and disposal work to secure tangible development, inclusive growth and regional impact. You’ll also lead on property and asset management programmes.
You’ll manage and be supported by a team made up of property management professionals and a team dedicated to the delivery of our acquisition and disposal programmes.
West Midlands Combined Authority’s Housing, Property & Regeneration directorate is developing the UK’s most successful, innovative and delivery focused housing and regeneration programme, combining the very best of the public and private sectors to drive inclusive growth in all parts of the region.
We want to unlock and enable the potential and power of the West Midlands housing, property and regeneration, through more devolved funding and opportunities to step up our land, property investment and regeneration work.
The team is at the forefront of implementing WMCA’s inclusive growth mission, and demonstrating the links between housing, skills, transport, health and economic growth; a whole team approach that combines working with local councils, LEPs, Whitehall and the private sector sits front and centre of our way of working.
Our overall aim and ambition: “to enable the delivery of 215,000 new homes by 2031, significantly increasing the proportion of affordable housing and driving new quality and design benchmarks”.
You’ll be an experienced property professional with practical experience of managing large property portfolios. You’ll be able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of real estate acquisitions and disposals and have the ability to manage complex projects.
Excellent stakeholder engagement is crucial, as is political nous, commercial awareness and having the tenacity required to gain agreement and deliver to challenging deadlines.
The above provides a flavour of the experience, skills and knowledge we’re looking for, you can get more detail from the job description at the end of this advert. We would encourage you to read through the JD so you can fully demonstrate how you meet the criteria.
